DEMENTIA DAD AND ME

Picture

"Dementia, Dad and Me is full of such tender moments, and is so honest about the difficulties for everyone in a relationship with someone journeying with Dementia.”

DEMENTIA, DAD AND ME

The onset of his dementia brought a dramatic change to the relationship Hannah has with her father.  Dementia, Dad and Me follows the two of them as they find new ways to connect, and to navigate the delicate transition of their roles from father and daughter to caregiver and cared for.

Her father’s deep attachment to his archive of photographs and keepsakes is a touchstone for our conversations, and while naturally an introvert he has always had strong recollections of the stories which shaped his family’s life.

We all forget things, experience changes in our mood, or mix-up our words from time-to-time. But when this begins to affect our day-to-day functioning, it could be a sign of a condition called dementia.

Hosting a screening of Dementia, Dad and Me at your conference, university or community event is a great way to bring people together, from individuals with dementia and their family caregivers to health professionals, to learn and talk about the issues surrounding dementia.

The Screening Kit is an easy-to-use resource that includes everything you'll need for planning, promoting, and hosting an impactful event:
    • downloadable file of the 77min film
    • Engagement Toolkit

Please reach out via the form below if you are interested in hosting a screening.
"One of the important parts of the film is that people connect to Hannah’s journey. It is real and authentic.
It can be hard to describe this caregiving journey in words but Hannah did it with honesty and love that is very realistic."
Linda Bird Program Director, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia
