OUR PROJECTS
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Halifax
When the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Halifax called we were thrilled to shine a light on the work they do providing a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
The videos highlight individuals and programming, giving a personal touch to their profile. The fact that the BGCGH is filled with great people made our job really fun. This is Shianne, a Youth Engagement Coordinator at the Dartmouth North Club. She has deep ties to the Boys & Girls Club and a heartfelt story to tell. |

Home Warming
|
Clean Foundation wanted to promote their Clean Energy Financing program (CEF) to both home-owners and to municipalities who might be interested in signing up to help their constituents conserve resources and save money.
Road trip! Truefaux Films toured the province and talked with participants and municipalities who had been involved in the pilot program. We created a few profiles from each municipality, here are two. |

Devour the Sea
We love celebrating a good cause with good food, so when it came time for the annual Devour! the Sea fundraising event (raising funds for the Dartmouth North Community Food Centre) we jumped on board, had some fun and, with the help of Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, made this little promo spot.
Thanks to Devour! the Food Film Fest's Chef Michael Howell and Lia Rinaldo for being such great sports. |

The Youth Corps
|
The Clean Foundation wanted a spot which would showcase their Youth Corps program to potential partners. So we traveled across Nova Scotia to get a glimpse into what the program does.
We cut the 4-minute version at the left for prospective partners and awareness. We then cut the one-minute version below focusing on recruitment. |
Dartmouth North Community Food Centre
Dartmouth North Community Food Centre held a Gardening Party. A whole lot of people came, a whole lot of work got done, and a whole lot of rain came down. No matter, it was a day of smiling happy people who grew the garden and ate well.
Truefaux Films has an ongoing relationship with the Food Centre, supporting its initiatives in any way we can. We've made a lot of videos for them, here's one from the Gardening Party. Have a look at the wet, wild, fun event it was. |

Local Engagement
|
When you're wondering where to act, start local.
We believe in the power of local action. With that in mind we feel it is important to be involved in municipal. One candidate for District 5 in Halifax asked for some help. So we produced two spots. The first to introduce him to his constituents. The second we released the day e-voting opened and in 24 hours it had 4,000 views. By the time polls closed it had been viewed over 15,000 times. In a district where 7,500 people voted, that's pretty good. Truefaux Films has made ads in both provincial and municipal elections. Each time our clients have won. Either we make really good spots or we're really good at picking winners to work with. Either way shouldn't you give us a call? |
Nova Scotia Masters Speed Skating
Nova Scotia Masters Speed Skating Club is always welcoming new members.
Truefaux Films made these spots specifically for social media, to raise the clubs profile in a humours, light-hearted manner. We needed to keep them brief, 10 seconds per spot, but we wanted to capture the feel and the fun of both the club and the sport. The NSMSSC is open to all levels - experienced skaters and those wanting to learn so come out and enjoy the fun on the Emera Oval! |

Halifax Central Library Share The Wow campaign
|
Truefaux Films created a series of 6 videos entitled The Impact of Public Libraries for the 6.4 million dollar Share the Wow capital campaign for HRM Libraries. We were asked to highlight the ways in which HRM libraries play vital roles in our municipality. That was easy!
We looked at how the library network: supports Families, provides a welcoming environment for Immigrants, delivers Technology to a wide range of people, draws in Teens, benefits Rural communities, and how they are a facility for Communities to meet and foster relationships. View all the videos here! |
Music Videos
Beautiful, comes out of spending time with MacPhee Centre for Creative Learning Monday Night Music workshop.
Thanks to the generous support of Joel Plaskett, his New Scotland Yard Studios, and the mixing magic of Thomas Stajcer they've breathed life into their first track. City Lights, is a track from Yohan Black. It was a cold shoot but we had a lot of fun and we got to showcase some of metro's great graffiti as well as some cool night locations. And there's a train! |
